Overview
Xugana Island Lodge, Okavango Delta
Xugana Island Lodge sits on a private island on the edge of Xugana Lagoon, one of the Okavango Delta's most celebrated permanent water sites and one of the oldest camps in the Delta, having welcomed guests since the 1970s. Following a full rebuild, the lodge now offers eleven suites, including a two-bedroom family suite, each raised on a private deck at the island's fringe with an en-suite bathroom and uninterrupted lagoon views.
Days are shaped around mokoro and motorboat safaris through the Delta's channels and lagoons, guided island walks in search of the Delta's smaller wonders, and catch-and-release fishing for bream and tiger fish. A lagoon-view pool and over-water fire deck anchor the main area, with excellent birdlife throughout and an optional scenic helicopter flight over the Okavango available at a surcharge.
