Overview
Leroo La Tau, Makgadikgadi
Leroo La Tau, whose name means "lion's paw," is built on cliffs some 10 metres above the Boteti River on the western edge of Botswana's Makgadikgadi Pans National Park, with wide decks and a riverside hide looking out over the water and the pan country beyond.
Twelve thatched, glass-fronted suites are raised on individual wooden platforms along the clifftop, each with an en-suite bathroom and private veranda over the river valley. Twice-daily game drives through the national park are joined by seasonal boating on the Boteti and, for stays of three nights or more, a sleep-out beneath the stars on the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans, with an optional helicopter transfer. The lodge sits along the migration route for one of the world's largest zebra and wildebeest movements, at its peak between May and October, with a pool, boma and dining deck overlooking the river completing camp.
