Overview
Umkumbe Safari Lodge, Sabi Sand
Umkumbe Safari Lodge is an owner-run riverside lodge in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve, part of the Greater Kruger and sharing an unfenced border with Kruger National Park — an area renowned for its density of wildlife and, in particular, leopard.
The lodge's chalets and suites look out over the Sand River, where elephant, hippo, buffalo and antelope are regularly seen in the riverbed below. Days are built around twice-daily Big Five game drives, with an optional guided bush walk, a pool and lounge deck, and dinners around the boma fire.
