Overview
Chobe Savanna Lodge, Chobe River, Impalila Island
Chobe Savanna Lodge sits on Impalila Island in Namibia's Zambezi Region, at the point where the Chobe and Zambezi Rivers meet and four countries — Namibia, Botswana, Zambia and Zimbabwe — converge. Set beneath ancient baobab and fig trees on the riverbank, the lodge looks directly across the water to the floodplains of Chobe National Park.
Thatched, glass-fronted suites are raised along the river frontage beneath the trees, each with an en-suite bathroom, private deck and uninterrupted water views over the Puku Flats. Because game is viewed from the water rather than by vehicle, days are built around boat-based safaris across the Chobe floodplain, tracking elephant, buffalo and prolific birdlife, with a riverside pool, bar and dining deck at the heart of camp.
